Science-based Targets (SBTs) for Cities

Jump to: Knowledge Centre

Science-based targets are measurable and actionable greenhouse gas emission reduction targets that allow cities to align their actions and emission reduction efforts with societal sustainability goals and the limits of Earth’s ecological systems.

In partnership with the Centre for Sustainable Organizations, CUSP has created science-based targets and carbon budgets for Canada and Canadian cities under three different emissions reduction scenarios.
